The last minute Christmas shopping rush seems to have begun – malls are insanely busy and the sales are already a-plenty. Sometimes the ones we are the closest to are the hardest to buy for [boyfriend, dad, grandfathers…] – luckily I have a bit of an “in” on the subject. Rounding out the Guest Blogger Holiday Gift Guide Series is one of the most stylish men I know. Meet Ivor. Not only does he knows what is trending for men, but he also puts up with our group of girls and tags along for some shopping trips –
poor guy what a great sport!
1: ($39.99) Dark Knight epic saga by Chris Nolan. Watch the adventure with the man in your life from start to finish. Don’t forget to do your best Christian Bale impersonation as well “I’m Batman” (use raspy voice) – he’ll love you for that!
2: ($350) You can guaranteed a Woot Woot when he digs these out of his stocking -an amazing high-quality Swiss made timepieces from Tsovet.
3: ($329) Update his jacket wardrobe with a classic Wool Pea coat from Club Monaco. It comes in three colours to choose from, charcoal, classic navy and new this year dark olive. It will definitely become his new go to jacket for Fall/Winter/Spring.
4: ($269.99) Nexus 7 is Google’s answer to the iPad. I can give you a lot of technical jargon about the item but the only thing you need to worry about is that at 32g’s it won’t break the bank like the iPad would. Oh yeah and it’s Android. ‘Nuff said.
5: ($139.50) Soft and luxurious, the Carson Scarf (100% cashmere) is a great winter staple this year! It comes in six different colours to suit any man.
6: ($135) Raw denim has been making a comeback in the past few years so why not introduce your man to United Stock Dry Goods denim. What is Raw Denim you ask? Check out RawDenim.com to get a comprehensive lesson. Back to United denim, selling for 135$ a pair, these jeans definitely won’t break the bank. United comes in three different fits Classic, Narrow and Slight and three different hues – black, indigo or grey. Oh and did I mention that it is a Canadian brand???
7: ($219) Great shoes are hard to find – great and stylish shoes – not an easy task, but Fluevogs has done it! No matter the occasion – drinks with friends, night at the movies, job interview, or a late night burrito binge, the CBC Fluevog shoes will keep up with him and keep him in style.
8. ($40 – Professionally framed $200) His apartment looking drab? Just a tad bit boring? Liven up the man cave with Kozyndan’s original Takadanobaba on Acid Offset Print. Say that ten times in a row. This art piece will definitely be a conversation starter.
9: ($67 for the full combination) Kiehl’s has been around since 1851 – I’m willing to bet they know a thing or two about manly shaving needs. Just remember, a little goes a long way with these products.
10. ( $139+) Classic and cool, Ray-Ban has been a staple since the late ‘30s. Big time celebs like Steve McQueen to Jack Nicholson to Brad Pitt have given this company a very cool reputation. Get him a new pair of sunglasses and he’ll definitely feel like a big time movie star.
