Five Things That Made This Week Awesome

Although I appreciate every week for what it offers, this one has been particularly great – mainly because I have been on vacation from work and able to spend time with my loved ones in Toronto. Here are a few things that have been absolutely amazing.

1.  Spending time with my Dad before leaving for Toronto.
2. The hot air balloon festival – you could see more than twenty balloons decorating the sky all at the same time!
3. The best ever almond milk latte from fresh. I wish this restaurant would open a location in Ottawa – it is absolutely out of this world.
4. Just a little splurge on Fall fashion at Anthropologie – I’m sure you guessed that.
5. Road tripping with Neil. From Ottawa to Montreal to Toronto, all in a day – it was definitely an adventure but I wouldn’t have wanted to spend it with anyone but him!

The Romper That Started My Love Affair With Anthropologie

Even though it was three years ago, I still remember setting foot into my first Anthropologie store like it was yesterday. The strong aroma of scented candles, beautifully curated decor on the wall, but best of all, the outfits on the mannequins were to die for. I knew immediately that this store would become a favourite of mine.

I left with three items, a simple navy and teal dress, a pale blue blouse with intricate while lace patterns and this incredible romper. Even though jumpers had gained absolutely no popularity when I first sported this outfit, I was getting compliments on the “top” all the time. When I explained to people that it was all one piece they were shocked and surprised – to this day I get the same reaction. This romper isn’t your average saggy behind one-piecer, it is beautiful tailored, head turning and classy enough to wear on special occasions.

Treating Yourself Is The Spice Of Life

I eluded to a small Anthropolgogie shopping spree in my Jillian Michaels Body Shred recap, which made many of you chuckle. Really though, did anyone think I’d make it out of Toronto without setting foot in that store? [silence] Didn’t think so. It has been quite a while since I’ve shared an outfit post, so here is my excuse to show off a new purchase – and a beautiful bouquet of flowers I spoiled myself with.

Fabulous Finds Friday: The Romper

Imagine waking up in the morning, throwing on one pieces of clothing [okay – maybe some shoes, and accessories too] and walking out the door looking fabulous? Sounds great right? Guess what – it is possible. Enter the romper, the playsuit, the jumper, the onsie, whatever you want to call it – it is a pair of short attached to a top. Sure you probably wore something like this when you were a baby and yes – it did look silly, but these one pieces are stylish and absolutely awesome! I am the proud owner of three rompers and I can honestly say that they are part of my regular summer outfit rotation.

A Summer Evening Outfit Post

There is nothing I love more than long summer days and patio season! Everything just seems better when the sun is still shining well after 7:00pm and there is always an excuse to throw on a cute dress and head out on the town.

The dress below is one of my favourite Anthropologie purchases ever – I found it in the sale section ages ago and when I tried it on I knew it was meant for me. It is one of those pieces of clothing that makes you feel fabulous the second you put it on.

Fabulous Finds Friday

I had every intention to post about the upcoming Ottawa Race Weekend and my first half marathon training experiences, but then I came across this beautiful Dolce Vita peplum blouse and it tugged on my heart strings so much that I couldn’t resist sharing it with you right now. I promise I will write at least one post about my half marathon experience [and it will be complete since I’ll write it after race day] – I do have lots to talk about when it comes to running but today is Friday, and I definitely have a few fabulous items on my wishlist.

This is my uniform for the next few months – a beautiful, lightweight tank top [how great is this Dolce Vita Eyelet Peplum Blouse?!], a pair of denim cut offs [Citizens of Humanity Ava Cutoffs], printed sandals [Loeffler Randal], a small shoulder bag to hold my summer essentials [Pour La Victoire] and a pair of half-frame sunnies [Ray-Ban]. If only the weather would cooperate.

Wear It While You Can: Anthropologie Summer Dress

Five days of sun was such a treat. I definitely took every opportunity to break in some of my new summer dresses. Today’s outfit post makes me yearn for the warm Vegas weather – but I’m not picky, the Ottawa summer is good enough for me!

Fabulous Finds Friday: The Anthropologie Wish List

By the time you read this I will already be well on my way to one of my favourite Canadian cities to visit family and friends.
