A 5'3 Perspective

Fabulous Finds Friday: The Anthropologie Wish List

By the time you read this I will already be well on my way to one of my favourite Canadian cities to visit family and friends. As many of you know, being in Toronto gives me an excuse to treat myself to a few new wardrobe staples, especially since there is an Anthropologie only a few blocks from where I am staying.

Here is my Anthro Wish List [and thanks to a birthday discount, I hope to bring back most of it]. A girl can dream right!

Anthropologie Wish List

Blossom Sleeve Trench / Lacepaint Flared Dress / Katrine Peplum Top / Mesa Dress / Parknit Top / Dash Tennis Dress

Salta Quilted Jacket / Midtown Space-Dyed Dress / Sunstream Eyelet Dress / Watercolour Ikat Skirt / Chambray-Sleeve Sweater

Have a wonderful weekend!

Neutrals: An Outfit Post

Ottawa has been brutally cold the past few days, which makes me feel like holing up inside with a good book. Since Friday I have finished two books and started on a new one. If you’re like me and trying to find excuses to stay inside and keep warm, check out these easy reads: Twelve Rooms With a View by Therese Rebeck, Sweet Misfortune by Kevin Alan Milne and Born Weird by Andrew Kaufman.

When I’m not curled up with a book, I’m probably pursing the mall (or online stores). The last time I set foot in Club Monaco I stumbled across this sweater and instantly knew it belonged in my closet. Don’t you agree?

For any pool sharks out there – let me apologize in advance, you’ll see why in a minute. Jessica Sweater

The end of 2012 marked a transition for a 5’3 Perspective as I dove into the realm of outfit photos. My goal for 2013 is to continue on my quest for personal style discovery and I am thrilled to be able to bring you along for the ride. Finding my niche for this blog has been quite a journey, but it has helped me grow as a writer, creative thinker, and as a person. Writing this blog brings me great pleasure – as I hope it does for you. If you have any suggestions or ideas for new posts – don’t be shy. This blog is as much about you as it is me.

Here’s to 2013, may it be the best year yet!

#snowpocalypse > #endoftheworld

Unless the Mayans were predicting a huge snow storm that ended everything – I think it is safe to say that the world is going to keep on turning for the foreseeable future.

Let’s celebrate with a snowy outfit post!

Leather Details

Lately anything leather [real or faux] has been making my heart beat a little faster, and when I saw this vegan leather skater skirt from Urban Outfitters – I knew I had to have it. Changing the fabric of a plain item to something a little more luxurious can up the ante on any outfit. Here is what I mean – just imagine this outfit without the sheen of the leather, it isn’t the same.
